1. Theme Installation:
You can install theme with two ways:
(1) Using WordPress Theme Upload


- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Themes"
- At the top of the page click, “Install Theme” tab.
- At the top of this page click, "Upload" link and then click on "Browse" button.
- Select the zipped theme file (puregift.zip) and click "Install Now"
- After installation you will receive the message, "Theme Installed successfully."
- Click the link "Activate"
(2) Uploading by FTP
- Login to your FTP server and navigate to your WordPress themes directory.
Normally this would be "wp-content/themes" - Extract the files from the zipped theme.
- Copy the folder "puregift" to your themes directory.
- After the files finish uploading, login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click "Themes"
- Click "Activate" for the theme "Pure Gift"
- Import Demo content ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Tools" menu click, "Import"
- Select "WordPress" for import and install WP importer plugin.
- Activate the plugin and run the importer.
- Browse "demo-puregift.xml" file from theme's "demoXML" folder and upload it.
- On the next screen, check the checkbox "Download and import file attachments".
- Click "Submit".


2. General Settings
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “General” tab of Theme Options page.
- Upload logo and favicion. Enable/disable breadcrumbs and search bar by checkbox. Select sidebar position from dropdown menu. Default alignment of sidebar is right.

3. Change Theme's Skin
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Styling” tab of Theme Options page.
- Click on skin image for your website. Save settings and refresh website page.

4. Heading and Paragraph
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Fonts” tab of Theme Options page.
- Set heading and paragraph fonts size and color as per your website requirement.

5. Footer Settings

- Footer Settings
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Footer” tab of Theme Options page.
- Set footer column from dropdown menu (1 to 6 column) . Add copyright info to display in small footer right side. You can add google analytical code. (usually it looks like this: UA-XXXXX-X)
- Enable/Disable "Additional Footer" by chechbox.
- Footer Widgets
- In the “Appearance” menu click, “Widgets”.
- In this page you will see many widgets and right side theme’s widget sections.
- In footer widget section you can add wordpress default and theme's custom widget like Flickr, Testimonials, Advertise and Recent posts.
- Drag “required” widget and drop in “Footer Footer” to Sixth Footer widget section.
- First footer widget is first left widget area of footer section.
- You can drag and drop widgets as per your
choice, above steps are basic steps to add footer widgets.
6. Wordpress Custom Menus
(a) Add top horizontal and footer menu (custom menus)

- In the “Appearance” menu click, “Menus”
- Enter first menu name as “Top menu” or “Top”. Click on “Create Menu” button. (see "Sep 1" image below)
- Click on “+” (plus tab) to create second menu. (see "Step 2" image below)
- Enter second menu name as “Footer menu” or “Footer”. Click on “Create Menu” button.
- Enter third menu name as “Portfolio Menu” or “Portfolio Horizontal Menu”. Click on “Create Menu” button. (This is optional menu, if you want to display multiple classic portfolio with horizontal navigation then add this menu.)
- In “Theme Locations” box select “Top Navigation Menu”, “Footer Navigation Menu” and “Portfolio Horizontal Navigation Menu” from drop down. Click on “Save” button. (see "Step 3" image below)
- Create Custom Links: In “Custom Links” box give custom link URL and custom link name, click on “Add to menu” button. This new link will come in right side create menu sections (see "Step 4" image below). This link URL and name you can edit/delete any time.
- Add Post or Category link: You can directly add post or category name link by select post or category check box.
- You can move each tab up and down.
- If you want to make sub link of any main page then drag sub link page tab below main page tab and move little right and drop it. Same way you can add multiple sub links. (see "Step 5" image below)

7. Create Home page with Slider
Part 1
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Slider" menu click, "Add New Slide"
- Give Slide's title. Upload slide image from "Feature Image" box on right sidebar. Add slide caption/description in WYSIWYG editor box.
- If you are uploading slide images for carousel slider then use "13_Carousel-Slider-Images.psd" to export slide images.
- Add necessary slide details as per your website requirement for cycle slider. If you are using nivo, carousel or skitter slider for home page then leave first four options as it is. "Hyperlink URL" option you can use for all sliders.

Part 2
- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Select "Home" templage from page attributes box on right sidebar
- Publish the page
- In the "Settings" menu click, "Reading"
- Set front page display as per below screenshot.
- Save front page settings and refresh home page.

Part 3

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Home Slider” tab of Theme Options page.
- Set slider settings as per your website requirement.
8. Portfolio Setup
Part 1
- Login to your WordPress admin.
- In the "Portfolio" menu click, "Add New"
- Give page title of portfolio item. Upload project image from "Feature Image" box on right sidebar. Add portfolio short description from "Excerpt" box below "Add Media Details" box. Add long description in WYSIWYG editor box to display in single page of portfolio item (optional).
- If you want to display video on light box then add YouTube, Vimeo etc. video URL as per below example.

Part 2
- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Select Portfolio sortable/classic 1 to 4 column templage from page attributes box on right sidebar
- If you want to hide any specific category(ies) items then select category(ies) from "Portfolio Page Options".
- Publish the page

Part 3

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Portfolio” tab of Theme Options page.
- Set portfolio settings as per your website requirement.
9. Add Image Gallery
- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Select Full Width templage from page attributes box on right sidebar
- Click on blue plus icon of shortcode and then click on "Gallery" tab.
- Set necessary shortcode option and insert gallery shortcode. Get image ids from media library add it in "include" option.
- You can get images id with help of bellow screenshots.
- Publish the page

10. Blog Page Setup
Blog Page
- Create category(ies) and add some posts.
- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Select Blog templage from page attributes box on right sidebar
- Publish the page

Blog as Home page
- Create category(ies) and add some posts.
- In the "Settings" menu click, "Reading"
- Set front page display as per below screenshot.
- Save front page settings and refresh home page.

Blog Settings

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Blog” tab of Theme Options page.
- Set blog settings as per your website requirement.
13. Pages
Testimonials Page
Part 1 and Part 2
- In the "Testimonials" menu click, "Add New"
- Add client name in page title box and client testimonial in WYSIWYG editor. If you want to add client image then upload it from "Featured Image" box on right sidebar.
- Add client position or city name, company or website name and website url from "Testimonials Options" meta box.
- Now create new page with title "Testimonials" and select page template "Testimonials" from dropdown menu of "Page Attributes" box on right sidebar. (see below screenshots for all these steps)

Part 3

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Testimonials ” tab of Theme Options page.
- Select testimonials style and pagination as per your website requirement.
FAQs Page
Part 1 and Part 2
- In the "FAQs" menu click, "Add New"
- Add Question in title box and answer in WYSIWYG editor
- Now create new page with title "FAQs" and select page template "FAQ" from dropdown menu of "Page Attributes" box on right sidebar. (see below screenshots for all these steps)

Part 3

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “FAQs ” tab of Theme Options page.
- Select FAQs style and pagination as per your website requirement.
Contact Us Page

Part 1
- Create new page with title "Contact Us" and select page template "Contact Us" from dropdown menu of "Page Attributes" box on right sidebar.
- Add necessary text in WYSIWYG editor box. Contact form will come below this text.

Part 2
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Contact Form ” tab of Theme Options page.
- Enter email address where you want to receive contact form emails.
- You can edit contact form labels, success and error message, button and form subject text in this page.
Error 404 Page

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Error 404 ” tab of Theme Options page.
- Give Error 404 page title, description and upload error image.
- You can add this page icon and tagline from "Title Icons & Taglines" section of "Theme Options" page. (Refer topic #11)
Full Width Page

- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Enter page title and select page template "Full Width" from dropdown menu of "Page Attributes" box on right sidebar.
- Add Content in WYSIWYG editor and publish the page.
14. Add social media icons in top bar right

- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Theme Options"
- Click on “Social Media ” tab of Theme Options page.
- Add social media website full path URLs.
15. Add Multiple Sidebars
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Multiple Sidebars"
- Create sidebar by click on "Add Sidebar" button.
- In the "Pages" menu click, "Add New"
- Enter page title and select sidebar from "Sidebar" metabox at bottom area.
- Publish the page.
- In the "Appearance" menu click, "Widgets"
- Drag and drop widgets in page sidebar ( right side bottom area ) and refresh frontend page to see sidebar.

16. CSS files
In this theme there are seven CSS files for frontend pages..

- style.css - Main css file of the theme.
- shortcodes.css - This css file is used for theme shortcodes styles.
- skinname.css - This css file is used to display skin color background images and colors.
- prettyphoto.css - This css file is used for image lightbox effect.
- ie-8.css - This css is used to make theme compatible with IE8.
- ie-7.css - This css is used to make theme compatible with IE8.
style.css and typography.css are main files and these files have all sections indexed with titles (see below preview)


17. Shortcodes
- Click on Shortcode icon in WYSIWYG tinymce editor (see beside screenshot)
- Click on shortcode name, select/enter required field for selected shortcode in popup.
- Click on "Insert Shortcode" button.

- We have made user friendly layered PSD and you can find any layer easily.
- In PSD file you will see one big difference between "folder names" and "layer names".
- All folders name have arrow (>) and all layers name have ( -- ) at the begining. So when you do right click to select layer then you can find layer name which don’t have arrow (>)
